Send a message to the person who requested a photo of the grave monument of James Elston with the following comment:
I am our family researcher, and trying to trace the family of Thomas Elston, a cordswainer who had an alias of Robert Gillett,Jillett, and was sentenced to death, transported to Australia on the Hillsburough in 1798. He had been charged for stealing and escaped, then was recaptured, i believe that he changed his name while he was in hiding. His charge sheet is Thomas Elston, i have written a website www.jillettfamily.com, and we are coming to UK in April 2014 to walk in our ancestors footsteps. He was married as Elston and had 5 children. Trying to put them into the puzzle is rather difficult, as i dont even know which lady he married! I understand the difficulty in research, and appreciate any information that you may have. Thanks Kris Herron Australia
